Here is a Black Friday special 3 for 1: three snapshots from the ancient times (the month preceding the November 17 OpenAI “incident”).

Take 1: Oct 13, Politico reports on lobbying and interests occupying the vacuum of AI skills and resources in Washington DC.

Take 2: Oct 29, Yann LeCun and Max Tegmark debate corporate lobbying and influence before the UK AI Safety Summit.

Take 3: Nov 8, Yoshua Bengio and Daniel Privitera outline their views on how to achieve AI progress, safety, and democratic participation.

It makes for a short post but a long read as you check on the links (1, 2, and 3)… but the weekend is here. It is worth the investment of time to hear the cacophony of voices.
